Ya, they (sportsmansguide) keep having Piloti shoes sales. I've bought 5 different pairs over the last several months. At this rate I'll have more shoes than my wife...

I got a pair of Piloti "DTM"s at full price last summer and found they're way stiffer than I'd expected they'd be. I'll bring 'em to VIR in a couple weeks and see how they feel, but for autocross I'm still wearing a pair of Puma indoor soccer shoes. I have a pair of oldschool Sparco hi-tops from kart racing which were awesome but the soles keep peeling off in the front and I've stuck them back together with Goodyear Pliobond like 4 times and they're lookin' mighty ghetto.

I love my blue suede Prototipos. They're pretty comfy for normal wear unlike my old Puma Speedcats, and I get compliments on them often. I'm teaching myself to heel-toe downshift and they feel less clumsy than my beat-up Etnies skate shoes (my "everyday shoes"). When autocrossing, I switch between the Pilotis for driving and the Etnies for course work, since the Etnies are more comfortable for standing around for long periods of time.

Ross's suppy around here has pretty much dried up, but many of the pairs that I found were the nomex ones. I have a set for both me and the wife for when we autocross, they don't have quite enough padding for me when I have to work course, but I have been known to wear them to work every once in awhile. They are going to usually be thicker than wrestling shoes, but the rounded heel on them is nice for feel, and I can find the pedals well enough with them.

They had like 4 or 5 pairs at Ross in Cumming, I got excited and picked out a pair and my girlfriend gave me the "are you serious, you really gonna wear those?" look..

The Warden struck again...

I like my Puma Speedcats. I wear them everyday. Unless I'm mowing, then I wear an old pair of different pumas. The nice thing about the pumas are that you can go to the store and try them on, but are more expensive.

They too say "Not Flameproof equiped." (in german too)

My wife didn't approve of the 2 pr of Speedcats I have and still hates them but that's the advantage of being married for 15 years - I can do pretty much whatever I want!

These are the exact pair that i have. Ironically, i find them inadequate for anything other than making a fashion statement. On the other hand, i doubt they're broken in yet. I'm uncomfortable driving them, they aren't comfy to walk in, but dammit, they look cool!!!

These are my driving weapons of choice these days, or my Adidas Salas.

Um, I think your perception of reality has been altered by time, don't you mean to say 'whatever I want, as long as the wife approves'? I think time makes you forget the last little tid bit...

I wear size 13 in my speed cats. But I wont buy shoes without trying them on.

I bought some piloti s from them alot of orange on them , so I had to sharpee the stitches no big deal . Great deal exspecially cause I can get a way w/orange being so close to G ville fl
