So I loved my 2022 Subaru BRZ. It was my 1st new car. It was awesome, so of course I sold it.
Last week my buddy bought the car from me. He had a 1st gen FRS and it was rear ended and totalled. He wanted a second gen but was unable to find one in stock with out a mark up. He could not wait 6 months plus to order one. The obvious solution was to sell him mine. You see I have several cars and his FRS was his only vehicle. It worked out that putting 5k on a new car cost me about $1000.00
I ordered a new 2024 BRZ in white the next day. I am 3rd on the list locally for a 2024. I am hoping to get it in December. Here is a white gr86 for inspiration.
That leads to the obvious question of what will I autocross in the interm. The obvious answer is a Miata. I bought a crashed 2006 NC with 51k miles this morning...
1000? Did you not pay any taxes or title fees?
The NC needs a front bumper assembly and an airbag. I should get it delivered the end of the week. I will post some more pictures one it is delivered.

I think he was saying that his buddy buying the car meant he only lost $1k
I sold it for 33k. I paid $34,100 out the door.
I actually ordered a base model this time which is going to be $31,700 out the door after everything.
On top of that we did the paperwork through my buddies car lot so I am going to use some tax credit towards the miata which will offset the loss even more.
you have a sickness. Do prefer the white thou...
Dibs on miata when you sell
Nice deal, for you and your friend. I like the white better. Will we see the Miata at the Challenge?
How much was the NC? I've been eyeing those for a while as a solid platform.
That white car looks great!!
In reply to Lof8 - Andy :
I bid $3,050.00. After all the dumb copart fees it came out to $3,900.00. Shipping from South Florida was $225.00. I hopefully can fix it for $1,000.00. My goal was $5,000.00 repaired. It looks like I may end up a little over that but hopefully not by much.
How does one save taxes buy selling through used car dealer?
In reply to MyMiatas :
I bought the miata under the same dealership. I traded the brz in and bought the miata. You don't pay taxes on a trade.
My buddy bought the brz from dealership and paid taxes on his purchase.
Super sweet miata showed up today...
Runs like a champ. Top is in good shape. It's exactly what I was expecting, now i just need to source the parts...
I picked up a red bumper today off of facebook.
I need to find a grille, a set of headlights and the fog light covers.
I love used parts in the correct color!
All the other parts are not color dependant so should be easier to find.
Just goes to show how good the 2nd gen twins are.
I wish the white was just a gloss white instead of pearl, or I would have gone white instead of red.
I did a thing...
Miata will be for sale shortly... I will start a new thread Friday when I pick up the 23 BRZ...
That didn't take long! Did you even get to run the miata at all?
Nope it has still not been assembled
I'm going to regret this but what are the details on the Miata? I may not be in a position to get it but I want to guarantee of not before I assume I'm not
Hahaha. I will call and we can discuss.
