92 Corrado VR6 w/Teves (Mk2?) ABS unit. Intermittent hard pedal/dash "brake" light stays illuminated. ABS light never comes on, I think the PO pulled the bulb. Changed the ABS fuses, relays seem OK (those two behind the cluster). I know the pump runs, because she comes back to me from time to time (when it's all working, I can hear it pressure up when I turn the ignition on). I'm thinking pressure switch (the pump would still run with a bad accumulator, right?). I finally got it out, but don't know how to test it. Here are some stolen pix of what the switch looks like:
Here's the plug:
Can I test a couple of those pins for continuity or something? I'm hearing these switches are expensive, and really hard to find, so I'd like to make sure it's really bad before I chuck it.
BTW: I don't care if I retain ABS function, I just want my "power brakes" back. Oh, and I've got a new accumulator on the shelf, I'll probably throw that one on when I put it all back together.
Sorry I can't help, but here's a link to a local VW Forum. They're like GRMers, no blasting newbies, no BS & flaming.
Ask these guys. http://www.roflwagens.com/forum.php

THAT'S a new one. I don't think I've ever gotten this message before when clicking a link:
"Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forum.php could not be found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at www.roflwagens.com Port 80"
I'm not a computer guy, but is that saying "There was an error, and when we tried to produce the appropriate error message to tell you about it, that caused another error"?? If so, be happy it stopped when it did!
Kind of appropriate for your eternal ABS light, though.
I don't get the "not acceptable" error when clicking on the link, but the stuff I found on the roflwagens forums isn't much different than the stuff I found on vwvortex when I first started researching the problem.

They seem like cool guys (they're certainly better than a lot of the guys on Vortex), I just didn't find anything new to help. Thanks for the link, tho..
Luckily I'm never had any problems with a VW ABS system, but I think if I did I'd just convert it over to a booster and traditional master cyl. Sorry, I'm no help.
In reply to 16vCorey:
Corey, if time were no object, I'd just go ahead and do it, but it's my DD at the moment, and I need it back on the road (& I work slow).
