After replacing the clutch on the race car, I'm being careful. Also, NASA has a strict speed limit in the paddock and my rig won't abide by the rules given current gearing.
Getting friends and family pushing to grid worked for one weekend. I don't see that as sustainable.
Saw this on FB this morning.
Any experience out there? It looks to be in better shape than I would expect to find. Weird enough to speak to me. It would fit on the front of my trailer. A push bar on a normal 4 wheeler moves my car easily. Not cheap but ... I like it
I had a smaller one, it was ok but didn't have reverse. Don't know how to install a push bumper. Maybe a tow hook on the back. Just don't go too fast and try to turn sharply. Sold mine for a profit and bought a 4 wheeler.

If it has a metal gas tank, make sure it's in good shape. It'll probably have a hitch hookup, but a push bar would be tricky.
I think a push bar on a three wheeler would be difficult, you'd be pushing against the fork so you wouldn't be able to steer. It should tow okay.
Really easy to hurt yourself on one of those. As already mentioned, turn it at too fast a speed (which isn't very fast) and it will turn over.
I thought they had all been recalled.
Edit, I found this with a search, from here
According to a New York Times article from 1988, three-wheel ATVs were associated with more than 300,000 injuries and 1,000 deaths between 1983 and 1988. So that year, the manufacturers signed a consent decree with the US government, effectively ending the sale of three-wheelers.
A cousin had one of those when I was growing up. They are definitely the kind of fun that can hurt you real bad, which might make them even more or less fun depending on your perspective.
As noted before they will tow just fine but won't be able to push anything. For utilitarian purposes, a 4-wheeler really makes more sense.
There is no differential in the back so you have to learn to lift the inside rear wheel when you turn on a hard surface.. and then centrifugal force + gravity = rider easily thrown off. Add a passenger and you can see how this gets trickier.
They're still a ton of fun but just beware of what you're getting into and don't turn a kid loose on one without a LOT of instruction. Many also have no rear suspension beyond the tires themselves.
I had one as a kid. You can buy a trailer hitch for it. Lots of fun to rip around on. As long as you have an ounce of sense and lean as you turn it won't tip. I never rolled mine. The safety issue was overblown IMHO.
You won't loose money on it, they are still really popular compared to availability. You may have to make a pusher that goes around the forks and back to the frame?
I am with you though, different is cool!

Thanks to all. I know these can be...bad. I know one personally who unfortunately did not survive wringing a three wheeler out.
But...
I am safety oriented and have no desire to even begin to explore the limits. I want something to go under 10 mph with fuel jugs and under 5 mph pulling a race car to grid. I am even thinking of gearing it down so it CAN'T hurt anyone in case someone gets stupid.
Big plus to me is I'm pretty sure it will fit on the front of my trailer with the car attached to the winch.
I do appreciate all the warnings though. You have my back. That's cool.
We had Honda 3 wheelers for years , 90cc and 110cc and one weekend used a little 50cc one since that was all we had ,
Great fun but the first time I got on it , going up a hill I looped it and it ended up on top of me still running !
this is a 4 stroke 200 cc model so it will always start , and have decent power .
The idea that you will only go 10 MPH is a dream , so always wear a helmet , boots would be good too !
Ohhh I did get a 250R 2 stroke and that one was real fast and could kill you !

If I ever ride this outside the paddock, I will suit up like a dirt bike. I don't see though. Cause if I want to do that I would rather ride a dirt bike. But who knows...I've done stranger things.

Lean like hell and pray the outside tire loses grip before you flip.
When your feet slip off the pegs, the rear wheels drive up your achilles tendon quite nicely, I hear.
If it's really a Big Red, it long since sold. Those things were (are?) the gold standard of 3 wheelers, and I presume there is still a very active enthusiast group, unless they are all saddled with torn achilles tendons and head injuries by now.
A small quad would do the job much better.

It's about 6' long. And 42" wide. I am not seeing an obvious way of getting that to work with my trailer. Even putting the front tire at the the tongue jack is going to encroach on the car.
The only thing I can think of is to build a deck on the tongue area and drive it on from the side.

It is an Actual Big Red and it's there for the taking. You're probably right, a small quad would work. But it's not as weird.

Yes they do. My shop is on top of the hill behind the house. I was riding mine up the hill and it started coming over backwards. I put my feet down and it tried to climb the back of my leg. That's part of the reason I parted ways with it.

on the smaller ones we put more in the trailer by storing them vertical and sitting on the rear rack......
I would rather tow a race car with a 4-wheeler personally. But they can be fun if you know what you are doing, something like "driving a slow car sorta fast"
If you want to see a funny chase scene on Honda 90s, watch 007 Diamonds are Forever. Probably the most ridiculous chase in any of the 007 movies.

Well, I'm afraid this dream is crushed. There is not a way to load this on my open trailer with the car on it. Going back to the mental drawing board.
Just dimensionally unfeasible.

Sounds like a golf car would fit the use pretty well.
They are lager than a three wheeler. They are around 46 inches wide and around 7.5 feet long. Time for a bigger trailer! Lol.

The spot where that was filmed is about 8 miles from my house. We ride that trail all the time.

Ha ha! Yes...a golf cart would absolutely work. I am seriously trying to avoid an upgraded trailer purchase though.
Have you considered buying a fleet of Roombas and harnessing them like a bunch of huskies?
