This just came up for sale locally. It's an AMC Spirit SX/4. Basically a Gremlin/Hornet chassis with a Jeep AWD system and a lightweight Spirit AMX hatchback body. It's also a stupid-rare stick shift.
Did I mention my 401 would literally "bolt-in"? Seriously, can you imagine a 401ci V8, 5-Speed manual, AWD hatchback that weighs about 2600Lbs and has 500+ FtLbs?
Rallycross?

Why on earth would we talk you out of it?
Do it. Do It. DO It. DO IT!
Talk you OUT of it? Damn did you come to the wrong place!
I want it sooooo badly! Except my contracted job ended on 4/30 with no extension so now I'm close to incomeless
I wonder if he'll take trades...
Looks like a deal to me, forget rallycross, throw in a rollcage and take it to a rally.

Can you safely run that 4wd system on a front wheel tow dolly?
It's a stick, so I assume so?
So lucky that is too far to come get it
Between all of the AMCs, the hornet and wagon, I like the monster SX/4 idea best.
Is it all wheel drive? Full-time? I always thought those were 4x4.

If I lived by you I would do it so you should too.
p71, dont you have a wife/multipleamcs conflict? dont get me wrong! definitely do it! i just say shmoozle the wife a bit first
Nah, conflict is gone I sold the Concord wagon at a substantial profit in 10 days (enough to buy tickets to NYC and DC) and the Hornet is nearly totally stripped, also at a nice profit. Engine gets picked up the 22nd and it goes to the crusher sometime soon after that. She likes AMC's pretty well now!
You've answered your own question. We're enablers.
If that thing has an 8 track , sign away !

you're looking at it the wrong way, income isn't always the money you earn, sometimes it's the cars you have in your possession
What Raze means is, "Out goes contract work, in comes another AMC...."
you could always sell a few kidneys and testicles...
