I'm curious who would win on 1. an 1/8th mile drag 2. autoX.
My corrado runs decent with athe charger recently rebuilt. It has a Neuspeed HP Kit Stainless Header, Neuspeed P-Flow Intake, 68mm Charger Pulley, Neuspeed Front Strut Bar/Eurosports Rear Bar, Stainless Brake Lines/Drilled Rotors. The Porsche is an '83 928S that we're redoing. Got it on the cheap. Runs well, Rare 5-speed. Installed new injectors, and it came with a new Stainless Borla Cat-back. Just curious, will my Corrado compete against the 928s? I know it'd do better if if the 'Rado was a 5-speed!!! On my to do list!!!!

I'll take a clearer pic tommorrow, wife had the camera set on close up...

The Corrado certainly wins the looks category but I have no idea about these cars. My neighbor has a Corrado with 928 wheels, maybe I can ask him.

I also can't help you with the performance prediction... and yeah the Corrado may win in the looks category, but wins for me in the drivetrain.. FR V8 vs. FF I-4 supercharged or not (or VR6)

What if Superman and Batman had a fistfight...who would win?!

I think the Corrado wins on all counts. (I love me some 928, but the 1980's V8 power levels and the 2.X rear gear are vicious performance killers)

928 0-60 was in the 6-6.5 range I believe

Superman. Batman has no powers and has to rely on tools to get the job done. Bare knuckle and he's toast. But on topic - One is a VW, the other is Porsche. I say both break before the finish line.

When we get the new clutch hydraulics in the 928, I'll post a vid with results. I think the porsche has a 2.73 rearend?

Wow. That 928 is clapped OUT. I'll be interested to see progress reports on it.

I think it's a pretty dead heat in the drags with the Corrado taking it by a hair in the auto-x.

its not as bad as it seems.... I'm workin on it (stripping the old paint for a fresh coat). The old paint is HARD!!! I'm almost done with that thank goodness!!! During the spring semester, I'll be respraying the Corrado (Mulberry/LC3U), The 928(Ultra White/Blue Pearl), and the Wifes Focus ZX3(Black/Red Pearl). The Father in Law picked that 928 up for $700+ Rebuilt Injectors($200) and a $20Fuelpump relay ...it runs just immobile as the clutch hydraulics are toast. Also the boy that sold it had no idea what he had. Included in the $700 price was a New Stainless Borla Catback!!!! a $529 value, ABSOLUTELY Free!!!! :-) May see the 928 @ the challenge!!! Wha Ha Ha Ha.....Hope to make it anyways!!!

Hahaha. That's what I was thinking! (As a VW owner I can say that.) Corrado G60s are cool and all, but it takes a better person than I am to keep up with the maintenance. That 928 could turn into a nightmare of a project real quickly. I'd stick to the well sorted Corrado.

I tend to think the VW might best the P-car in an auto-X. But I bet the latter, with a RWD V8 and stick shift, would be more fun.

It depends on which 928, the last of the line were nothing like the first and were major fast (and also way more expensive and rare). I don't think a Corrado would do well against a newer one, but would probably beat a late '70's version pretty easily.

look like the "race of the century" is off... for now. The father n law just sold the 928 and told me he found another for a decent price. Will keep updated.

Here's a new pic i took today. I Love This Car!!!! Photobucket
