OK, maybe I've spent too much time on the board here and I'm seeing patterns that weren't intended. But stick with me.

The 911 article mentioned the early cars having rust issues. The Boxter article states the bargain they are. And there's an article on welders. Am I the only one here that was thinking it's a recipe for a mid-engine 911? One part bottomless 911 (or 912) shell, one part bargain used Boxter. Cut/fit as need, apply welder.
Yea I know there's more to it than that, but I can't be the only one that had the idea.
Drats, I need to get back to work now...

There was a sweet CMC Camaro in that issue too... just sayin...

I have to say I didn't think that, but it has rekindled my want for an 80's era 911...Dammit!
If you are going to buy a Porsche, its harder to find a deal out there better than a 12K Boxster.

You were the only one until you posted about it. I can already see my wifes' eyes rolling. That usually happens when I start the conversation with "I was on GRM and someone had this crazy idea..."
Why would you ruin the pretty car (Boxster) by welding such an ugly body (911) to it?

Any why would you want a hard to work on 911 with an engine that its only a matter of time before it explodes?

Maybe that's why the CMC Camaro was in there

It's all coming together now.
A beautifully insidious plan.
I am so glad I don't have the time/money to explore this.
