Post Vintage race car pictures

I couldn't find a full-sized copy of this pic, but I've always found it one of the great WTF moments in racing:

Usually when one of my rear wheels passes me up, I'm spinning.....

I go gaga over the Mercedes Silver Arrow Grand Prix racers from the 30s. Don't know how this one lost its hood, but it makes the picture more interesting:

I have some old Laguna Seca pictures, you used to be able to sit VERY close to the action.

Ever since I read about that car I've wanted to build a 12 valve powered front engine open wheel car. Easily the dumbest crazy pipe dream I've had.
