I've read a few build threads on Challenge vehicles and seen them start to finish while others I've only seen the finished product. Though it would be fun to post before and after pictures to see the transformation a lot of these cars go through. This can be for past or present vehicles.
Here is my $2008-2010 Miata

Since we aren't starting the build till Thursday night around 5:30 there isn't much change.
Hopefully it will look a little better Friday morning...
Here is my 2014 car. That engine developed more than a tick, less than a knock, in the drags which killed my plans to drive it home 1,000 miles the following day so I sold it at a loss to another competitor before the event was over.
Here is my newly acquired 2015 car:
$2014 Fiero
5 Days and 1000 miles later
$2012 Miata

I have a complete irrational lust for that fiero. So much want

I just wanted to say that I really like the way your challenge MX-5 came out. Nice color and like the wheel/tire/offset etc combination.

Thanks! I still miss that car. New owner painted it 7 different colors and blew the engine. Should have never sold it.
You guys are AMAZING! That's all I can say.

Its all in in the countless hours of labor and smart application of dollars. For most competitors this is a way of life. Pick the brain of any of the top competitors if you seriously doubt their budgets.

I've lost count of the hours we've got in to our challenge car. It's no where near where we think we can get it, just need a solid week of nothing else pulling us away for various reasons to get it there.
