Can you transport a non running vehicle via Amtrak Autotrain?
What's the cheapest way to turbocharge a 200cc 6 volt Honda motorcycle breathing through a single Mikuni carb?
How much do I need to strip down a head before taking it to a machine shop? Obviously accessories, but cams too?
In reply to calteg :
Depends on the machine shop. I've sent stripped heads and I've sent fully dressed heads. They may charge you a disassembly fee if it's outrageous. Typically I don't want to include anything that they are not going to do work to just so they don't lose it by accident.

No. It’s drive on/drive off, meaning each vehicle is driven on and off the train by an Amtrak employee (not the owner). Also, judging by the smell of smoked clutch that accompanied the first minutes of our drive after we retrieved the Tiger, not all of those employees are that savvy with a stick.

You could call them and ask, but as far as I know, Marjorie is correct that they need to be able to drive it into / out of the auto carrier train cars.
In reply to Appleseed :
Garrett GT12 or MHI TD-015 turbos are about as small as you can get. Jet up and draw through. Pull timing as needed. Bonus points if you don't burn your legs on the extra exhaust.

What about a non-running car on the back of a running ramp truck?

Probably above the height limits and they don't allow anything with a dually rear end. But the website does say it's possible call and make arrangements for a vehicle + trailer combo, so depending on total height you might be able to do a pickup with a car on a trailer (paying for 2 car spots, of course).
The 4L65E transmission on my Buick Regal is likely to hit mean time before failure in the next year or so, if Internet claims that these live for around 180,000 to 200,000 miles before grenading are accurate. So, does it make sense to get a junkyard core and start rebuilding it now, or should I just get the parts to swap in a six speed manual?
