I know this is vague, but I told my buddy I'd ask the hive, so....

2008 Toyo Highlander with dealer installed moonroof. The moonroof operates fine, closes fine. Sometimes while closed it falls down 1/8"-1/4" at the rear of the glass. Just happens suddenly, no button contact required. Once it does you have to open the roof and then close it to get it back right. When down it creates a crap load of wind noise but no water leaks.

Seen anything like that before?

Not Toyota or Highlander specific, but I've had to replace the plastic linkages in BMW sunroofs dozens of times.

We have an '08 Highlander, but no issues with the moonroof. Ours is an early production model made in Japan.

Have you inquired on ToyotaNation?

What brand sunroof? Webasto (Hollandia) or Inalfa (ASC and others)? What does the switch look like? I work for Webasto, if it's Hollandia or SolAire I can help.
