So in 40 years of playing with cars I've never had to service a power steering rack.

In the course of installing the rack travel limiters in my Foxbody Mustang it became obvious it's leaking. When I popped the boots off it dumped enough fluid leave a 12" diameter puddle under each side.

The seal kit is $40.

Remain racks are $150 at the chain stores.

New racks are $325 from LMR (chain stores want $500+)

So for those of you who've done this what's the best route? I don't want to it twice.

I've had a couple of racks rebuilt with seal kits and they've held up well, including the super-rare GTZ rack in my AE92.
