I have a 78 Z28 that is mostly a bracket car with few street miles.

Anyone have experience in swapping from P/S to manual?

I assume other than the manual box, a different pitman arm is also needed?

Borgeson kit is almost $500

Pull the belt/pump, loop the lines. See what you think. Weren't those offered with manual steering? Or at least the Nova variants? Looks like ebay has a few manual units that claim to bolt up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/S10-MANUAL-STEERING-BOX-MALIBU-G-BODY-BUICK-GN-CAMARO-FIREBIRD-F-BODY-/151193653329?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2333d81051&vxp=mtr

Steering box, pitman arm and then the correct rag joint. I just went the other way on a 64 El Camino, and the only issue I had was finding the rag joint with the correct diameter and spline count.

a manual box from a late 80's S10 should bolt right in and use the same pitman arm and rag joint...
