So the windows would go down, but not back up on my RX-7 Turbo II. I pulled the switch a few years ago when I had the same problem and cleaned up the contacts. Worked fine for a while, then this. Everything is in great shape, just that black carbon builds up on the surface of the contacts.

So, my question: Is there anything I can put on the switch contacts that will still enable the switch to work, but inhibit the build-up of carbon? I see dielectric grease used to prevent corrosion on connections, but I would guess the "dielectric" properties of the grease would prevent conductivity through the closed contacts. I pulled the switch 2 months ago, and the car's been sitting since. Too hot to drive a car with no A/C without windows you can roll down. Suggestions?

I used dielectric grease on the terminals of my trailer, no problems with conductivity at all. Definitely keeps the corrosion down with the trailer sitting outside.

should work. It will stop contact when the switch is not depressed.. but the moment you push the contacts together, electricity will flow

people put dielectric on battery posts as well, between the post and the terminal, so no problems with conductivity should be noticed.
my boss at Subaru fixed everything with dielectric lol
