~25 miles to Clewiston proper ~40 miles to Immokalee proper. There's not a whole lot of support structure out there. Better bring your own fuel, food, and brews.

Also that CCTV camera in the pictures. Is that strait up from the 70s or 80s?

Buy it up for $5mil, franchise a Chevron/McDonalds gas station on the property and profit.

Anything ever happen with this track? It's still totally visible on google maps, there doesn't appear to be an entrance road though.  Looks like a perfect track and location away from things.

This has to be one of the most mysterious and wild unused racetracks in the entire country.

Very cool video!  There's a pretty active thread about this track on the "Retired Race Cars and Abandoned Race Tracks" facebook group currently.   Although nobody really seems to have any new info to add and several people mistaking the place for the Firm.

One of the posts on the Facebook group:

Egidio Perfetti built the track for him and his nephew to practice for Sebring… they ran Porsches

from Wikipedia:

Egidio Perfetti (born 5 June 1975 in Sorengo) is a Norwegian racing driver. He is also a director in the family business Perfetti Van Melle, which is an Italian global manufacturer of confectionery and gum, dating back to the 1940s. Today it is the third largest group in the world in its sector after Mondelez Internationaland Mars IncMentos is one of the Perfetti Van Melle brands which is often promoted on Perfetti's racing cars.[1]

That is wild, so like, what happened?  That's my curiousity.  Theres not really a living structure nearby.  Just a random and from the looks, pretty good track, in the middle of the swamp.

I wonder what the alligators are like down there.

Big.  They have to be, so they don't get eaten by the pythons.

I tried going here about a week ago. Lots of paths that Google maps doesn't know. I ended up getting stuck in mud for hours on end. I eventually got out and the rest of the way was good. All of it is private property so I'm not even sure what a good way of going to the track would be. (I never made it to the track I just wanted to go home).

I want to go back to see the track in person and document it. If anyone in South Florida is down for that, please add me on discord. theman3942

I mean the guy right above you in the thread hasn't posted since he said he was going down there to check it out, so it's not looking great.

It's a private track owned by a rich guy (or possibly now a group of rich guys) sitting out in the Glades.  What else are you wanting to find out?

I agree that it's intriguing and I'd love a chance to drive it but It's not so mysterious after finding out it was built by the Norwegian business man/racer, Egidio Perfetti

I never knew the guys name.  Thanks.  Maybe now I can send him a letter to see if I can get a run or two.

The biggest bummer here is without constant, full-time maintenance that place is going to get reclaimed by the earth pretty quickly. If it sits for six months of rainy season with no upkeep it's going to take weeks to get it back into driving shape. Hopefully Mr. Wonka or whoever owns it now is at least keeping the place clean if they expect to use it regularly.

So I've spent way too  much time this morning looking at the track map and it's interesting finding little bits of the circuit inspired by Sebring in it. There's a very T1-flavored corner, bits of T3, parts that look very similar to the run from T10-T12, and even a bit of T15-T16, although the approaches are radically different. Still, if they built it to practice for Sebring, there'd be some familiarity and muscle memory building at this place.

You'd probably have more luck getting a small plane and landing on the frontstretch.  Claim you had a vapor lock problem if anybody questions you.

I explored it several years ago.  At that time, it was obvious that someone maintained the facility.  Grass was mowed, cows on the property were well fed etc.  when we approached, the cows came up to the fence to greet us.  It actually seemed pretty lucky that we didn't bump into any people while there.  I'm sure the track surface is taking a beating from the sun, but otherwise, it did not feel "abandoned" at all.
