I used to be anti Walmart. Then I had a prescription that was $900/mo at CVS and $330/mo at Walmart. Got over that prejudice really quick. Now I just go wherever is convenient. All stores suck.
Walmart also carries a ton of fishing stuff and that's super convenient. They're a good source for car batteries and oil too.
Their car batteries tend to fail fairly quickly, but you can exchange them within the warranty period that they'll almost certainly fail in at any Walmart location, so buying one is almost like buying a cheap and easy (Edit: As long as you don't order online...) lifetime subscription to short-lived replacement batteries, which can be pretty good if you're on a tight budget.

Actually, the Walmart battery warranty has gotten pretty bad. They no longer offer anything with a 5 year...just 3 year.
I bought my F250 battery from Walmart. It failed about 33 months into the 36 month warranty. I figured, great, at least I'll get something off. Yes, I know the warranty is prorated and prorated so all the rewards are in the first year or sooner. I don't remember the specifics but with 3 months left my proration "discount" was like less than $10. BUT...if I accepted that $10 off via my 33 month old battery, the battery I was buying that day would only be warrantied for the remainder of battery #1's warranty period or 3 months. By forgoing the $10 "discount" I was buying another full 3 year warranty on battery #2.
If you buy a battery from walmart and turn your core in, then need to return your new battery because you bought the wrong one, you aren't getting your core back. I did this today. I was told they cannot give me a core battery back, its "against store policy". Luckily i was able to find a battery that i think will fit. So dont turn your core in unless you are certain the new battery will fit.
