Me and the little guy were at the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix this weekend, along with Mrs. Pinchvalve who was very patient with all of my "and this car had a factory blah blah blah..." He loved this thing, what a chip off the old block eh?
For me, it was all about the exotics. These cars might be at the local WalMart in your neighborhood, but in Pittsburgh, you just don't see hardware like this:
The recent history of Lamborghini was well represented as well:
(OK, cliche I know. The exotic car and the trophy wife. But if you are going to do it, do it 110%...and this guy did!)
They fired up the Aventador. It was a religious experience.
Check out the front brakes on the SLS.
Bigger than the wheels of my old Civic!
And there were plenty of classics as well. A very few of my favorites:
Oh yeah, much love to our friends at Factory Five, these things are amazing:
Would you feel safer on the back with your own handlebars?
So good looking in person.
Great shots. Thanks.
We didn't have time to go over and see any of the cars on the golf course (our race car was fine, but we were helping others).
Would have liked to go over to see the GTO and the ALFA Disco.
We saw a lot of neat cars tooling around as we went back and forth to the hotel last week.
There's quite a few photos on the PVGP Facebook page too.

Really? The first time I saw one I died a little inside.
I don't know about Walmart parking lots but there's a guy that shows up at our local autocross events with a Noble just like the silver one in the picture.
Man, great shots! You didn't happen to get any of the 250 GTO I see peaking in the background of the 288 GTO, did you?
I wonder if that's a real 288 GTO or a 308 with a body kit.
I still have to get the pictures off of the camera but the 250 GTO was a replica and the car that looks like a 288 was a 308 race car with GTO body pannels on it.
On a side note. My two boys and I went to the race and stayed over Friday and Saturday night and we had a good time. But the boys said that thier favorite part was riding on the "crazy" road, Ohio State Route 646, on our way to and from Pittsburg.
If you get a chance to drive that road do it, it is in my top three roads I have ever driven.
Ohio State Route 646
Not a real GTO, pretty rough inside. Still neat though.
Notice a family resemblance?

Is that a 1980's Hurst Olds or something. I love it.
The photobucket is fighting me.
nicely done kit car, I want to build now.
Lotus switch strategy: if it works, good luck figuring it out
I have a few more fun pictures, but I can't get photobucket to work, keeps crashing.
Very fun event. I really enjoyed just watching car nuts drive around pitt in their toys.

I love Unimogs despite the Germans trying to run me over on the flight line with one every couple of days, I still want one of those short wheelbase ones in the worst way possible.

Oh my, I used to live in Steubenville, I even recall checking out "woodview park." at the end of 646, but never went on that road! I feel like I missed out.

While not technically a kit, per se, I'm sure Chuck would let you build your own if you paid for the whole thing.
A Beck 904 is an amazing car.
Wow! Thanks for the pics. I see some nice big Healeys in the background too. That's one I lust after.
And the pics of the Series Rovers are killing me, I was " this close to getting a four door Series Rover a few years ago, but I thought it was, get this, too slow. Now I drive around like little Miss Daisy and I'm complaining about everyone else driving too fast. Ugh, such a cool car.
The Beck 904 is cool too and look how small it is. It makes the Cayman beside it look like a Town Car.
We had two Beck 904s at Pitt Race event (formerly "BeaveRun"), which is the first weekend of the PVGP.
The #8 car actually raced at the Pitt Race event.
I'd bet that #5 car is the same car as seen above..
