I'm moving soon so I'm trying to get rid of all my extra parts.
I have an S2000 hood (metal) and a Viper removable hardtop (glass or FRP) and both have some blue painters tape stuck on them. What's the fastest and easiest way to remove that and not damage the finish as both are pristine.
WD40 doesn't work well at all!
Goo b gone. I have also had good luck with lighter fluid.
Goo gone worked very well to remove the stubborn glue from some old racing decals. You can pick it up in any old auto parts store.
I have Goo B gone but I thought that stripped the finish too
OK, to jump off subject for a minute. I'm having the devil of a time trying to determine the value of the removable top for the 2002 RT/10 Viper. Where do you guys go to see values?
OK, goo b gone didn't work worth a flip. It was still better than WD40. I'm presuming it's because the tape is old and hard(ish). I've ordered the 3m stuff
What about heating it up some with a heat gun?

When I removed the old decals from a motorcycle, the ONLY thing that removed the adhesive was parts washer fluid. I tried everything else suggested in this thread with virtually no luck.
Let that 3m stuff soak in, if it it's aged out and that hard. Then use a *plastic* razor blade to remove tape and residue.
If that *still* doesn't work for some weird reason get a 3m stripe off adhesive remover wheel. I didn't recommend one first as you always want to start with the least aggressive form and work your way up. And I HAVE seen people F their paint up with the adhesive wheels. Its hard to do, but I've seen it done by folks in the past. Too much rpm. Too much sustained pressure. Things like that.
Anyway my money is on the 3m stuff and a plastic razor blade will work, if used correctly.

Amazon says the 3M stuff will be here before 9pm so here's hoping.
In the interim I did try a heat gun and then a power washer. The Goo B Gone stuff sort of works, but it took almost an hour to get a piece less than 6" off
