I know that the stage rally crowd isnt real big here but Rally America and USAC are joining forces for 2013. What it means to competitors isnt real clear yet.

In reply to logdog:

The USRC (United States Rally Championship) used to be sanctioned by USAC. As far as I can tell that ended sometime after 2007.

I've been reading a bit about the implosion of RA. If you look at the number of people that actually stage rally in the US and then you add up their entry fees and then you take away insurance and all the other costs of putting on a rally, there is no way that you can be paying people actual real money to run the series. Not without a title sponsor anyway, and that money dried up and blew away a while ago. I'm not sure what the future of rally is in the US, but I'm pretty sure its not with a RA type organization.

Darn shame, I've been out of rally for years, but RA really seemed to step in and pick up the pieces after SCCA dropped rally like a hot-potato following those fatalities several years ago.
