almost sell on Sunday!
Ran the miata today, as usual didn't do all that great in STR
(funny, it's almost like S2000's have way more power than my 95 miata... huh)
got back, phone rings, this kid wants to look at the miata.
Everything goes well, find a happy medium for price, and then...
my keeping the vanity plates (in accordance to WA state code or whatever) ends up being a deal breaker for him, he won't drive the car without plates.
So, in theory he will call me tomorrow, at which point we'll go to the courthouse and get everything nice and done.
Bringing me back to...
Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday.
In other news, Snow needs a non Miata replacement for the answer, and will be listing a bunch of good miata parts in the classifieds soon.
Snow wants 4 doors? Snow wants CTS-v.
Snow wants the drivabeater.
Snow wants two doors, non-FWD, and the ability to accommodate someone who is 6'3'' with an abnormal amount of torso.
Bonus points for not being screwed in AX classing.
Bonus Bonus points for ability to not actively discourage women from keeping his company.
(Fun fact: Snow test sat an E36 M3 yesterday... not happening with stock seats, good to know)
CTS-V? lalalacan't-hear-youlalala
Driveabeater... well, yeah, duh.
15k and a fly and drive.
Fit should work for you.
And the girls it attracts should be a whole lot of fun. At least they would be if my wife would let me...
In reply to Dusterbd13:
Too bad it doesn't quite check the autocross box
Snow needs a 350Z or a C5 Corvette, preferably an FRC.
Both cars are competitive in Street and STU, have more interior space, are 2 door RWD, not too expensive, and look good.
Holy crap, that guy actually came through.
I am a two time ex answer owner now.
In reply to drdisque:
Snow has considered both of those, though isn't entirely convinced he fits in a Corvette.
But yeah, C5 FRC is high on my list
The drivabeater does autocross....
Not like a vette though.
Congrats on the sale.

I have not yet met a woman who valued an el Camino.
Sounds like you want an S2000...
In reply to tuna55:
I don't fit in an S2k.
Even worse than how I don't fit in a miata, at least in the Miata I had elbow room.
(Test-sat an S2k once, had to open the door with my right hand to get out, couldn't get my left to the handle from inside)
I would've suggested an MR2 Turbo but then I remembered that I at 5'11" don't fit in that thing with a helmet on without spending money on race seats and low but expensive seat rails.
Boxster may be worth a look. 04-on GTO maybe? I've seen them for well within your budget and we have one locally that gets auto-X'd with abandon.
Gen Coupe 3.8? It's Fstreet ..... and STU.
Never mind.
In reply to BoxheadTim:
I actually already have an AW11, surprising amount of space inside...
it's just super rough around the edges, not the 'serious car' I'm looking for.
That being said, it's shaping up to be my DD for the forseable future.
And if it opens things up, I have zero problem shelling out for rails and seats.
Hell, I already have a couple race seats, would only need to source rails.
