The fitting for the transmission fluid on the new radiator I installed is leaking. It is leaking from the threads of the fitting I installed. I tried once with thread sealer and once without, leaked both ways. What am i doing wrong?

Did you use a sealant with PTFE ?

Permatex has one, also Gasoila.

Form-a-gasket #3 will work.

Side note:  Boats being inspected by the Coast Guard will not pass brass fitting touching aluminum fittings.  Galvanic corrosion.   sad

I used PTFE tape on the threads

I've run into cheap pipe fittings where either the male or female threads were cut wrong (root too deep, taper was wrong etc) and even liquid sealant wouldn't work. From the looks of it the fitting is already buried, so I'd try another nipple. If you want to try that same nipple again, 3 wraps of Teflon tape AND liquid thread sealer might get it to seal.
