So a friend and I are working on getting back into rallycross after about a year away. Our go to tire was the winterforce, it seemed like that and the gneral altimax arctic were the overwhelming favorites though the general's tread pattern seemed better suited for hard packed surfaces. Looking at tires now, both the winterforce 2 and arctic 12 look like they have substantially less void area in the tread pattern and maybe even less tread depth which is concerning. And the originals aren't available anymore in sizes that would work. Has anyone tried either of these new designs and can compare them to the older versions? Alternatively, has anyone tried any offerings from other brands? The tread pattern on uniroyal's snow tire looks decent and there's a size that would work that's cheap but I have no idea what the compound is like. Any all terrain or light truck tires that are available in a reasonable size (205-60-16ish) or some other option I haven't considered?

I ran altimax arctic on the vic last year and they were good until finding mud.

I ran firestone winterforces on the Ranger this year, but too many problems with the suspension to say if they were good or bad.
