Looking at tire rack and summit for wheels for when i get a cvpi.  would you go with a known brand like enkei or go with like Focal or Motegi?

For a crown vic how about some 15" mustang or jeep or ranger wheels?  Much cheaper and likely stronger than chinese aftermarket

I'm here to learn more about the rallycross scene in Asheville.

Also JX2 and Jackson Motorsports Group out of Greenville, SC offer amazing support for Motegi wheels and can get Pirelli, Michelin and BRG gravel tires.

For wheels, if OE alloy takeoffs are cheap and plentiful, I'd go that route. If I can get takeoffs for $20-40 per a wheel instead of $130-190 per a wheel (or more) then I'll get the 3 sets of takeoffs and have different tires available for varied conditions.

later cvpi's wont fit anything smaller than 16's. looks like according to crownvic.net 05+ / s197 Mustang, all 03+ panther, and 2002-2005 Explorer wheels will fit.

In reply to captdownshift :

I will be running with East Tennessee Region SCCA, as they are the closest region that runs rallycross.  I looked on FB marketplace and craigslist and people are wanting almost as much for take offs as i can buy new ones on summit.

ETR has a really nice location to run at Frazier Motorsports Park in Tazewell, TN.

I'd go with whatever the cheapest aluminum wheels you can find in the right size, new or used, OEM or aftermarket.

Pretty sure P71s had 15 inch wheels because the Standard Police Car Tire was a 225/70-15.  Chevy even used them on their Tahoe police package, which looked silly, but meant that PDs could buy their trucks without having to stock multiple sizes of tires.

http://car-part.com/ is actually a decent source for OEM takeoffs.

And, if you do car-part"s search with image,  it is a great source for spotting what will fit when shopping CL or FB

Non-existent, but we do have a great autocross scene.  ETR is the closest for rallycross.
