A few interesting finds at the pick-and-pull today
Not sure what this is. There was a Volvo P1800 next to it.

old Volvo wagon. Love the fold-down hatch

Alfa spider. Not that interesting, but was sitting all alone with a bunch of steel wheels around it and looked funny.

Also an SR5 Corolla coupe, which was fortuitous since last night one of the local rallycross/autocross guys asked me to keep an eye open for one at the yard. Lucky for him it was about 99% complete.

check out that PIMP interior!

I caught the Jag in the other thread. Looks a lot like the one Top Gear had on once.
In reply to mguar:
damn, I should go back. I think you can take complete cars there for $500, lol.

Well the first one is a Jaguar Mk2 , highly sought after and very collectable..
I suspect there is a Jag collector out there who'd pay serious money for that car.. Well over $1000 depending on how bad that rust I see is..
There was a guy in Ohio that had three of them behind his barn. The one in the pic would have been better than his best example. As far as I remember he was wanting 5k each for his.

If I didn't know it would end up just rusting in my backyard as I try in vain to find a buyer, I would be back there tomorrow with a trailer.
I'm pretty sure they are all still sitting there unsold.
yeah, I'd much rather pick up that Volvo anyhow. That could be done up pretty PIMP.
Irish, what yards are you going to? Fairly local?

I usually go to Crazy Ray's in Jessup and in Baltimore. They're the two biggest yards in the DC-Balt area. About an hour drive for me from Va.
They're also pick-and-pull yards with HUGE inventories, constantly refreshed, and a SET price list (e.g. "ANY radiator $22, ANY door $35" regardless of what car it came off of).

mguar, where's a good place to sell a couple of Jags? One is a 61 Mkll basket case since 1973 when my dad bought it, been garaged all these years. The other is a 71 V12 2+2 coupe. It was parked 20(?) years ago when the electronic ignition module went out. I think I can get it running again with a new module and a carb/tank cleaning.

I was going to say either Mk2 or Mk X ... (the X is what I had ... if I understand Jag talk the X is basically just an oversized 2 )
Um, no, not really: the Mk 2 was a medium-sized sedan in Jaguar terms, while the Mark X was definitely a large one. The Mark 2 evolved into the S and then the 420, while the Mark X evolved into the 420G... but they were still very different cars. Confusion then erupted, and no wonder. My only hope is that whoever thought this up is spending eternity looking for Lucas parts.
so I just got word that the Jag in the photo above was spotted yesterday on a flatbed by a guy I know who was driving home to baltimore from hyperfest.....
wonder if it was the same car.

Damn. I was hoping you had come across something more local. Crazy Ray's simply isn't worth the drive for the chance of finding something I need.
I want a Jag MK2 so badly.
1960 mk 2 jag RHD 2.4 litre 4 speed
