I remember when the NY State Police had Turbo Mustangs.
Anyhow, around here the State Police use Chargers, the City uses mostly SUVs and the county has a mixed bag.
The City also has a white Ford Pickup truck with a ladder rack, a couple of nice ladders and a dented tailgate. I've seen it doing traffic stops before. That's just patently unfair.
The motorcycles they have are neat- BMW R1200RT-P models. I have a feeling they will never see the auction block.

I was always amazed that with budget they can't (won't) afford to put some snow tires on at least a few of their cars. I remember leaving the bars in Fairfax Circle area and passing at least 4 stuck officers on my way back to Oakton. On "major" roads too... i.e. 123 & 50. It seemed to happen almost every storm.

Some state/county/municipal laws require "marked" cars and that is one way to meet the requirement for being marked, but be "stealthy"...obviously a way to circumvent the legal requirement to make police cars obvious for the money grab of writing more tickets because the "marked" cars are not obvious. Shine a flashlight on the lettering and it will probably be retroreflective which is how they meet the "marked" requirement...

Sorry, but if you're a criminal and wind up in the back of the police car your comfort should not be the police department's main concern. If you don't like it maybe you'll obey the law in the future to avoid the discomfort...

Sorry, but if you're a criminal and wind up in the back of the police car your comfort should not be the police department's main concern. If you don't like it maybe you'll obey the law in the future to avoid the discomfort...

I'm guessing you've never been incarcerated on false charges? Maybe you even assume noone in this thread has? Or that noone ever is at all?
I could pretty easily write something here that would eventually get this thread locked. But i mean, if it happened, it would only be because it deserved it.. right?

Lolol even if you were innocent and incarcerated on “false charges” I think you would have way bigger concerns than the 15 minute cramped car ride in a police car.
