If I am running late to work (between 8 and 8:15) On occasion I pass a random Ferrari Testarossa.
Very odd in rural East Tennessee.

I don't see many rare cars regularly on my commute. I'm actually driving one of those rare cars now - you don't see many RX-7s on Mass. roads anymore.
There is a Viper RT-10 in town with the license plate "ASP." It sits in its driveway under a car cover all summer- I've never seen it uncovered (the cover has a window so you can see the license plate). I used to see a Shelby Series 1 stalking around town about 4 or 5 years ago, but the owner sold it.
I saw a later-model Isuzu Impulse Turbo on the highway recently (the one with the quad round headlamps and sleepy eyebrows). Not many of those left.
I occasionally saw a Tesla Roadster on the way to work last year, but the nice cars have only come out to play again in the last couple of day.
Quite a lot of hot rods and 60s muscle cars around here, too.
Not grass roots, but I saw one of those new gullwing Mercedes this afternoon. Noticed it was special from a long way off cuz the headlights were low and faaaar apart.
Used to see a guy in a gto convertible on my route to work pretty frequently. Always top down (cool), usually windows up (not so cool).
saw a 69 or 70 GTO Judge yesterday afternoon on my commute, not abnormal to see Muscle in W. North Carolina but rare to see a Judge.
Saw one of these just now. Merkur/Sierra station wagon. We didn't get these here at all, let alone wagon versions. UK import I suspect.
This one had a much lower/wider stance than the above.
I saw a purple Meyers Manx dune buggy putt by my car while sitting at a stop light on the way to work.
In the past week I've seen a Bentley Continental GT coupe, two NSXs, couple Vipers, a Lambo Diablo, Porsche GT3 RS, a fully-caged bmw 2002, Maserati Gran Tourismo, two Rolls Royce's, a Model T, and lots and lots of ratrods and hotrods.
Boise, ID gets a weird mix.
on the way to work one day:
picking up some grub on the way home one night (thats my G-dub parked next to it...turned me into a scared turtle a little lol)
when i go from job 1 to job 2 on weeknights, i drive by a forest green 2002 that's been sitting in a carport for a while now. i've done a slow drive by and outward body appearance seems to be rot-free. if it hasn't moved by the end of summer, I'm gonna ring the doorbell.
When I went to Midwestern MINI in Columbus last Saturday, there was a pretty new looking Rolls Royce (I assume waiting for service). The best thing was they had one of those plastic dog kennel/carrier things sitting on the back seat.
Oh, and since I ordered by MINI on Monday (4/25), I've seen 16 of the little buggers zipping around Pittsburgh. It's gonna be a long six to eight weeks.
LainfordExpress, Midwestern Auto Group MAG is a great place to go daydream and drool, they sell all the good stuff.
I occasionally see a Nissan GT-R... but I seem to have seen more preproduction cars lately than classics or exotics.
I ran across a preproduction Mercedes SLK with camo and no license plate the other day.
A month ago I ran across a preproduction Hyundai Genesis sedan (I think) running with an older version.
Also about a month ago, I saw an undisguised pre-production 300C SRT8 absolutely flying down I-94. I'd say it was going at least 100. It sounded pretty awesome.
Few Lambos, Porsches, Vettes and such around my work. I saw a new, tan Gullwing benz the other day. It looked nice, but in that price range I could just buy another house or something.
Not much classic stuff, just a couple half-assed camaros and G-bodies. I did work near a guy once, that owned a bunch of older Jags, and MGs. He offered to sell my a MGB-GT former racer for $600. Worst decision ever to turn it down.
I saw a Silver R8 sitting at a light in Warner Robins, GA of all places this week. There's also a guy in town with a cheez-whiz orange Lambo. Gallardo, I think.
EDIT: there's also house I pass every day with an odd collection of stuff: NA miata, a 2 tone blue citroen 2CV, a datsun 510, a kit replica of the first production jag, a couple old military trucks, 3 motorcycles, an MGA, and a bunch of other stuff.....the guy's got great tastes. I completely forgot about it since I see it all the time.
When I'm @ my parents' house in NOLA, I constantly pass a house with an orange 944 that looks AMAZING... I know it's not that rare, but I have never seen any that look that good.

I grew up in Columbus and went to Dublin Coffman High School. When I go on bike rides, I always take Frantz Rd to Post (?) past the MAG used autos, Toy Barn, then up to Perimeter Loop to the MAG dealership and pedal around staring at the Lotuses and Porsches, not to mention the Ferraris, Lambos, Bentleys, etc.
I ended up ordering my MINI from MINI of Pittsburgh, in the hope of fostering a relationship with the dealer doing my services, but the MAG MINI guys were much more friendly and helpful.
OH! I almost forgot, about two weeks ago, a 911 GT3 drove through our parking lot at work. I was fairly dumbfounded.
I was talking to my manager and saw it out the window, just stopped mid sentence and said "Umm.... wait a minute."
I finally found out what the shop is that my train goes by everyday: http://www.ferraripaint.com/
The neighborhood it's in is the LAST place you'd expect a shop like this... but I'm glad they're there because it makes my rides home SO much better.

Yeah, there is always some great stuff at the MAG locations and the Toy Barn. If you're in central Ohio you ought to consider dropping by Yellow Springs, OH (close to Springfield) on a nice summer Saturday. I have a side job there once a week and last summer I saw a: Maserati Khamsin, Volvo P1800, MGB, Triumph TR7, Fiat X1/9, Fiat 850 Spider, Ferrari Enzo, various other Ferraris, etc.
I saw this today. The second photo I took while driving by.
Real? Kit car?
Considering where it was I would not be surprised if it was real.
Something about that wheel in the last pic looks wrong to me,Dean. Like it isn't quite round, but maybe it is just the wheel opening.

I want to key all of them. Other than that, this is a pretty dead part of the world for cool cars. Around the Carlisle swap shows you can catch a couple cool ones, because it's only 15 miles away.
Luckily I seem to have missed the gene that makes me want to damage something because it is nice or I can't afford it!
