My dad found this on a recent trip and I thought I might share.

Is that an old F100 back in the trees?

Nice '63 also. A friend of the family had one when I was a kid.

Here is a better shot of the truck.

I would guess that the car hasn't been there very long. The grass doesn't look very long under it. Still I would think that a '63 split window in that condition is certainly "rareish"!

It's been there at least a year and a half. My dad first spotted it early last year and didn't have his camera then. Yeah, it's rareish to say the least.

One of the secretaries at my first "real" job back in '96 had as her summer daily driver a '63 split window automatic that same color, except it was in immcaulate condition. She was a pretty cool lady.

I got to drive a '66 convert 327 4speed once and it was awesome. The C2 is one of my favorite series.

Those are nice. My pa had one before he knew my ma. I drove a friend's 64 convertible that was impressive.

Get 'em both if you can. That's gold.

Wow, wonder what the story is on that Vette.

I'm not sure if they are for sale. If you will give me a couple of hours to contact the owner I might be able to find out some back story and if they are for sale.

Edit: It has been there for at least 3 years.

That's a hell of a find. Please let us know if it's for sale!

Or if they will at least put it in a garage!

So what's the story? Are/is it/thay for sale or maybe rent?

To drool over, you understand...

Not sure yet. Haven't been able to contact the owner. My dad just said that the first time he saw it at this location was 3 years ago. I have to wait till he gets done with his appointment to get the owners info.

If they are for sale I'd be very interested in the vette. I was just looking at a nice 48 Fleetline project, but this trumps it.

Update: Just talked to someone who knows the owners and she said the car is absolutly NOT for sale (must be a good story there). Waiting on the owner to call me right now. More to follow.

Cars like this are never for sale, they usually are owned by someone who's going to fix it up someday...

Yep. Very frustrating. They'd rather cling to that dream and let it rot into the ground instead of giving someone else a crack at reviving it. Newsflash--you aren't going to restore it--sell it to someone who will. Put it in a garage in the meantime.

That Vette has to be worth decent money--even in that condition. Great find.

At least its only one of them, and not as rare as these are... http://citbitz.com/blog/citroen/citroen-sm-citroen/citroen-sm-graveyard-discovered/

Im sure that corvette will meet the same fate though. It wouldn't still be sitting there unless it would going to be left to decompose.

Someone ought to just take it, leaving a fair sum of money in its place. Then restore it. Some kind of forgotten-classic-car vigilante.
