My elderly stepfather has a 2011 RAV4 AWD. He recently drove it with AWD on; the next day, he couldn't turn it off and he's got a CE light.
The internet says it's not in AWD because the CE light won't allow it. The dealer is saying it is in AWD and he's going to wreck the diff, and I'm sure they can smell my stepfather's pretty complete lack of automotive knowledge...
Is the internet right about the car being in 2WD due to the CE?
When I go visit, can I fix it, assuming access to basic tools?
