So if y'all remember some of my older threads about the focus getting a turbo put in it you'll remember it had a smoking problem. Well I got a few tunes and some of the smoking went away, my SCT device broke and sending it back to get it fixed was a nightmare. Fast forward a couple months and I get the device back. Well, the turbo finally kicked the bucket.
During the rebuild I had some fun, don't know how it happened but the housing cracked. I cried, I laughed, I re-welded it back together. Man that night was not fun, despite my earlier comment. Don't worry the crack was taken care of, that's the only picture I have of it though.
Anyways I went back out to re-test drive the car and hoped that the smoking wasn't back. Long story short, it was... bummer (I have confirmed that the turbo is the source of smoke since the smoke is coming off of it pretty obviously). Is it time to just buy a scavenge pump so the oil is forced back into the pan instead of burning away forever? I'd like to not just shotgun parts at it and solve it once and for all so if any of y'all have any ideas i can test let me know. This is the drain currently, it's only probably ~4 inches down and probably ~8-10 inches distance horizontally.
Also if I do buy a scavenge pump how do I choose the one I need? Currently the drain is AN-10 fittings and hose, do I just buy anything I see or is there a method to the madness? If there isn't I'll just but the one linked and go with it.
Thank you all, GRM, for any advice you offer. You guys have been a huge help to me with my shenanigans.
