I recently bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler and have spent a bunch of time disassembling the interior to thoroughly clean it. That included taking out the lower black plastic trim pieces, which are solid, but pretty tired looking. I'd like to bring them back to black. What's the best process to do so? I plan to clean them thoroughly. Then what should I do? Prim them and then paint them? If so, what product? Or is there some other product I could use? TIA

If there's a texture on them then paint is going to lessen that texture.

I generally clean interior bits with a bucket of dawn soap, hot water, and a little bit of ammonia.  Scrub with a big brush to get most stuff, then get the nooks and crannies with a tooth brush.

I used to like meguiars stuff, but I have been neglecting the inside of the truck for a while, so I'm not sure what the best option is anymore.

I dig the liquid black shoe polish with the foam applicator.  It stays looking good much longer and can be removed  unlike many of the surface treatments.
