The best part about Travis ( I wrote the same thing in my LSPR thread, so forgive me for the repeat, but damn it bears repeating) is he is TRULY one of the nicest guys in the game. When we were at rally, he ALWAYS had time for the kids, to stop for a quick handshake/talk, and was totally a normal guy, albeit a normal guy with a wad of cash and more fun in one bone than I have in my entire body.
yeah the trophy truck backflip clip they showed was super as well. The jump was awesome, he was on one heck of a high after that jump he didn't want it to end, so he did a back flip off the barge.

EXACTLY, thank you, which is why I like him. He does this to have fun, he doesn't act cocky about it. Like you said, does it for the fans and always has time for us.
Yeah, it was amazing how humble he was. Instead of eating dinner all fancy like in front of everyone at the awards dinner, he hung out with some of his crew, and Ken Block and Ken Blocks wife and kids (Ken, if you read this, your kids are ADORABLE... and I don't like children) off in the corner over by us. You'd never know he was a kajillionaire if he walked up to you on the street, and you didn't know who he was.
Agreed. At NEFR he wandered over to where I happened to be watching a spectator stage start (going in reverse order, so he was among the last to go), and we just chatted a bit, just like you and I would - like car guys, nothing more. Most cool, and I've got a ton of respect for him for that.
He is the man and that was an amazing jump! On one hand I would love to be in his position, on the other hand, I don't think any amount of money could help me through the physical pain he suffers every morning when he wakes up lol. None the less he is one of my idols even tho he is only like a year older than me :(
I met him at a Rally America race two years ago, totally nice guy. I got an autograph, a shirt, and a tour of the Subaru Rally Team area just for walking up. Really down to earth and loved to talk cars.

Man it is nice to hear. I thought he seemed pretty "normal" but nice to see that confirmed.
BBC
A bunch of us guys were watching the jump last night and my wife came it asking if we were watching the "Ball" drop and I replied...We just saw 2 huge ones fly...
buddies car (matt johnston) i was crewing for at Maine pro-rally a few years ago was parked next to his in park-expose (sp?). i slid out from under the honda (leaking trans fluid, stressed, etc) and he was standing right there. "whatcha guys doing? anything ya need?"
nice dude
It was really really cool!
i'm just pumped to see rally getting more and more mainstream in america. even if it's because of Ken Block and Travis doing non rally things! lol

Were you by chance, the drivers of the black Civic @ LSPR? We cheered like crazy when you (if it was you) unearthed what was dubbed mount civic, and blew apart that wheel/tire combo. We took a look later after sweep went through, and that was a gigantic berkeleying rock. Good to see you at awards that night, even better to see you continue.

that car did become black/white/purpl-ish a few years ago... this was in 05/06 though (won gp2 national championship). matt almost made it to JWRC the next year, but some money fell through, and he has now built a flat black integra with crazy pink graphics. hilarious dude..proud to be his friend! haha
