Arnie Gonzalez calls it Red-X. It fits. The truck’s red, and he autocrosses it. Plus, others look at the truck as if there’s a red X on it.

“They give me the ‘Oh really?’ look,” he says of those who first encounter his 1990 Chevrolet C1500 Sport. “They start talking crap before they even see the truck run.”

Arnie doesn’t mind …

While it's true you can put anything on the track. If it's got a big enough motor it'll go acceptably fast work on the suspension enough and it will even corner.
One thing it won't do is slide by others on the straights. At least not based on aero.  You're just pushing too much air.

Good thing you don't have to slide by others on the straights in auto-x.

I love it. I've always wanted a performance truck ever since Chevy released the 454 SS......was that back in the mid-late 90s?

don't even own *a* gunlet alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack.

Hi, Girthquake! Don't need a gun. Back in the day almost every pickup had a gun rack (at least where I'm from), most of them empty.

I've got a 1966 Ford F100 that I've been thinking of taking in this direction. This may be the push to get it started.

Sweet truck. I used to really dislike lowered trucks when I was a kid, but as an adult (ugh) I've completely flipped. No idea what happened. I guess my taste improved?

The twin I-beam suspension would be a disaster. The front roll center is high. Imagine the weight jacking of a old Beetle or Spitfire, only in the front.

Will those suspension mods bolt up on a 2000 Tahoe limited?

In reply to jglee920 :check out RideTech suspension. They have complete front and rear suspension kits for 65 thru 79 Ford trucks. Not cheap but high quality and well tested.

Between 450 and 475 hp?

At the tire on a 120 degree day with bad gas maybe

Come on.  Ported 243 heads on a 6.0 block with a bumpy cam?   That's a stout piece.

It's a '66 F100.  I heard they fit nice on a Crown Vic chassis.
