Registration for the 2022 Flag Rock HillClimb, Presented by Summit Racing, Backroads of Appalachia and Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, opens today, July 20, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern.

Set for August 27-28 at the Flag Rock Recreation Area in Norton, Virginia, the event is comprised of a 1.7-mile-long course with 15 turns and an elevation gain of 920 feet.

I love to see hillclimb taking hold in this part of the country. I've said for the better part of 2 decades that if stage rally were to grow at the amateur, cost effective end of the spectrum within the lower 48, that it would have to occur in SW VA, Eastern KY, Eastern TN, and the western Carolinas. Hillclimb is the logical first step to growing and creating these opportunities.
