Glad it is looking up. The guy you are dealing with is most likely a part of their CA team and this is what they do. I not surprised they are taking care of the first couple payments. These things happen and all too often the dealers make it worse before corporate gets involved.

But...But...But I was told by my local dealership that they are here on my behalf, to protect me from the perils of dealing directly with the manufacturer!

Are they actually paying the first two payments or just postponing your first payment by two months?

FCA will "handle" the first two payments immediately after they receive shipment of the checks within a reasonable amount of time. Don't you worry they care greatly about your credit.

Surprisingly Facebook can be your friend here. I had a problem with a rare, expensive factory installed accessory. The dealer couldn't help due to supply issues. I contacted the company via their FB page, and the part got expedited. I got a phone call from a real live breathing individual who had a clue, and let me know that there was already a software update for my new, non-installed part, and the dealer would not yet have access to this update. They asked me if I wanted to try to install it myself, gave me a link with download and install instructions, had the part installed, did the software myself, and good to go.

Sounds like I make the payments as usual and they'll reimburse me via something called "Fiat fun bucks" which can be used to purchase important accessories for my Fiat Chrysler product. Like windshields.

Actually they said to send them a copy of my payment book and they'd send me a check for the first two months. Like nocones said, they're not entirely concerned about this car, they want to make sure I have good enough credit to buy my NEXT Fiat or Chrysler. Which, honestly, is smart business.

But what does Robert Downey Jr. And Ricardo Montelban have to do with Fiat windshields?

Payments go to the financing concern, not the dealer nor the company (FCA).

The dealer and the "company" have already been paid.

A lot of Fiesta owners have had similar problems.

Sorry that you had to go through all this.

Ford has customer service reps that can do a lot with a recalcitrant dealer. I would imagine other companies have something similar.

sounds like that is who you talked to and they put you in touch with the right person.

Did your warranty period start already or does it begin when you finally get the truck? If the dealership has it the first few months and it's using up your warranty than perhaps a few months of extended warranty is appropriate too?

Sorry, missed this thread coming back. Yeah. Got the windshield, got the van, all is right with the world. Will write more when not on deadline.

Id still be irritated. Removing the windshield usually ends up with some paint damage around the windshield frame. from there its just a few years till the rust bubbles around the windshield start.

Leased car, let it rust.

Nope, not leased. Bought it. Bought the Turkish-built Fiat badged as a Ram. If you put your hand close to the surface you can actually feel the hum of the depreciation.

But, whatever. It's exactly what I wanted, and I like it a lot. How many things in your life can you say that about?

Now I just need to get the Buick Roadmaster cleaned up and sold. Ironically enough, the a/c in our rental property just blew up. Coast about as much as a nice used Roadmaster I figure. Stupid cosmic irony.

Also, I have nothing but god things to say about most of the folks at Daytona Dodge. If anyone asked me if they should buy a truck from them, I would say yes, but ask for Derek in sales and Lisa if you need any post-sale service. A couple people there really pissed me off, but I do not feel it is a corporate fault. I think I just got someone who was either having a bad day, or who was just kind of a dick. It happens. The upside is I let them know I wasn't happy with the person servicing my account and they immediately got me to someone who I was happy with.

'96. LT1. 120k. Class3 hitch. B- condition. A few sins, but mostly a no-excuses driver and tow vehicle. New tires, rear brakes, and some other stuff. Well maintained for my tenure.

Currently in the process of getting it detailed up and photographed. It's not perfect but it still has a lot of love to give someone, and it'll pull darn near anything you put behind it. I'd drive it from here to Seattle tomorrow without hesitation, and look damn stylish doing so. I'll have more complete details in a week or so once I get it properly ready for sale. If someone from the board wants it $2900 will do it. I figure it'd eBay for $3300-3600.

Further thought on the Roadmaster wagon.
I'll bet the wagon has $900 worth of new tires and new brakes which are Challenge budget exempt. Therefore, what is left is a $2,000 car.

This could be a perfect Last Chance Challenge entry for someone who wants to fly in and compete!
The Roadmaster is eligible for The Aristocrats Class too.

As an added bonus, save on hotel costs by just sleeping in the rear of The Roadmaster in the hotel parking lot.
