In a moment of shameless GRM promotion, I was thinking about when I was a kid in the 60's.   We used to be able to write a letter to various companies such as STP, Moon, Valvoline etc.  They would send you free decals.  Naturally these went on everything, mini bikes, garage walls, tool boxes, not to mention a car.   Ah the good old days, are here again.

As kids in the 60's we hit up the local service stations for stickers. I think they gave 'em to us just so we'd go away. I still have a stash somewhere if my brother didn't pilfer 'em.

Good old days.

Come to think of it, I think that's why they did it.  A couple of years ago cleaning my parents basement, I found my old dresser with a bunch of those stickers on it.  Took off the drawer face , hung it it in my shed.

Hey I recognize that C pillar!  cool

I also still have a FAT stack of GRM bumper stickers.  I politely requested one or two to throw on my car when I took it to the RXNC one year.  I get a handwritten envelope with over a dozen.

Do kids even collect stickers these days?

One of the youfs who worked with us did.  We gave him all the stickers he wanted.  He had a box style S10 and the interior was wallpapered with them.

Years back we had a customer with a Metro, and we had been giving her all the stickers she wanted.  The outside of her car was almost completely covered.  So was the inside.  Lots of Sharpied messages inside and out, too.  I never looked under the Smeagol statue on the dash that was labeled "WEED BOX" with an arrow pointing at it.

Have you ever searched “stickerbomb” on the internet? Stickers are a REQUIREMENT for us young folks. If you don’t give a sticker, we don’t give a crap.

I work at a ski shop, where we still have tons of stickers. Kids definitely like stickers, though not sure if they "collect" them per se.

Summit racing hands out stickers to the kids every time we go.  I wrote miller pre challenge and they sent me a fat stack of decals.  CRC on the other hand didn’t bother replying.  So i’m 50/50 on asking challenge sponsors for stickers.

Chevy, 406. Older build. Steam holes done, World heads(Older, when they weren't too bad), don't remember the cam,  Edelbrock intake, 750 holley redone. Headers of course.  Turbo 350, shift kit, I believe it has a 2500 stall.  Next up will be a 200r4 trans, or a 700r4.  Just picked up a 9 inch rear conversion for it, waiting on the weather.  The car did a 12.80 with a one legged stock rear, spiinning the tires away.  Typical rust in the 1/4 panels, not bad.

Back in the 1960s we'd hit up every auto parts store and gas station in town on a weekly basis for stickers.  STP was by far the most common, but if you were lucky you'd get some for real speed equipment, like Crower Cams or M&H drag slicks.

Nice Evo.  Was that a cop bike?  FLHTP?  You on the HD Forums Evo section?  That's where we all hang out.

I actually still have a AAA map envelope with some stickers from the 60's and very early 70's.  Ran across it not too long ago.  STP, Champion, Ansen, Monroe, some more.  Penzoil used to be a good one.  Send them a letter, they'd send you a sheet.

Don't have clue what  I did, but enjoy the picture of my Harley.   Away went the Volvo and Monte.  Pressed wrong buttons I guess.

Thanks, DD.  I have about 90K miles on it.  I bought it new.  Don't ride too much these days.  I'm kinda planning another Sturgis run this year.

I should have clarified "kids". Not meant to be driving age or posters here.

We were 7-8 years old running all over town to score stickers. If my folks knew all the E36 M3 we got into I would have got my ass beat.

I mostly see kids today playing on their phones, ain't no kids played in the woods out back for over ten years now. Makes me wonder.

Good old days.

Talking about "stickerbombing", back in the days of my old xB and younger tuner friends, they were bombing things with all the same decals like "illest" and "I love haters".  I decided to go old school car stuff.  (Man that was a lot of red, wasn't it?)
