Renowned Porsche engineer Hans Mezger passed away yesterday, June 10, at the age of 90.
Porsche owes much of its success to Hans Mezger, who was instrumental in developing the iconic air-cooled 911 engine, the dominating 917 race car, and the groundbreaking TAG turbocharged Formula 1 engine, among other significant highlights for the brand.

Sad to see him go- massive contributor to motorsports. From an engineering standpoint the flat 6 engine is still a marvel to me. I was whipping the one in my Cayman around AMP last night, thinking that there's really nothing else like it.
A lot of greats can be traced back to his pen.
Hard to overstate what he did for Porsche and sports cars/ racing in general.
They sound so good going down hill into Eau Rouge in the video. My Carrera's got an aftermarket exhaust on it I like the sound of. Dunno what it is, was on the car when I bought it.
