in my Saab 900 and I have to say it is a job I never want to do again.

Once I figured out how the car was layed out, it made sense in a twisted logic sort of way, but I did not enjoy removing the intake to get that the monster hose that runs from the bottom of the radiator to the waterpump.

almost 20 years and over 225,000 miles.. my 900 was on it's original hoses if I am to believe the build dates on them. Most of them saying 08/90 on them. If that is the case, I doubt I will ever have to worry about them again.

The car is also considerably lighter now that I junked the non-functional aircon

New parts were probably made in China and will need replaced in 3-4 years.

Yeah, non original maintainance parts are the fastest way to make a new car into an old car.

On your next c900, you can skip replacing the lower rad hose -- they almost never go bad cuz they're thick and the coolant is coolest there. The hose on that car that is typically problematic is the 90* elbow at the head: it dies from the inside out and sees the hottest coolant in the circuit. Despite the cost, I only use the OEM part there.
