You can borrow my Tactrix to do a tune if you want to pay for shipping back and forth.

Curious to what the "little issues that carry over to the regular 3" are?
I'm just curious what would make you trade a pretty versatile DD, for a slower DD that has less room under the guise of practicality.
I'm certain I've missed something.

The mpg was a major killer for me on a daily 10 mile bumper to bumper commute. Also not the most comfortable on torn up New England roads. I never truly loved nor hated the MS3 & I get bored really quickly. I doubt this will be in my fleet longer than 3 years.
Yes the Si is slower by miles. I've already seen 30mpg out of it, never would have seen that in the MS3. As a DD so far it is more comfortable & I've had no problem hauling E36 M3 around with it. It took the front bumper cover from a GTP with no issues.
However, I have a problem & I am addicted to boost & I'm very curious as to how the Si would respond to a supercharger. But than again I should be making the Starion the priority.

Is it a 2.0? Pseudosport has an original tactrix cable, but that doesn't work with the 08+ cars. If so, this is tempting.

Yeah I think selling an MS3 only to boost an SI seems silly. Your mileage would suffer even if you didn't dip into boost too often.
Just play with the Starion. Hey do they all have all-metal intercoolers? I have one I was going to use on the Jeep (and still may) and thought it was a great intercooler for OEM.

Pretty sure it is a 2.0, I bought it early this summer. I'll check for sure when I get home from work.
Easy way to tell:
Either it looks like this:
Or like this:
The top one is 1.0, the bottom is the 2.0.
I'll let you know if I need it, and thanks for the offer!!!
I'm still on the fence about doing anything to the car since it's still under warranty and I need to bring it in for service soon. It makes strange noises (sounds like a heat shield rattling) under boost, and all I need is for them to say that it's because it's tuned. also, I have read conflicting reports saying that I need to upgrade my fuel pump when flashing to stage 1. That's nuts!!!
If you get bored with cars pretty easy, I wouldn't buy anything that you'd have to finance. If you're here, then you already know you have an itch for the quirky, odd, old, cheap, and are familiar with the phrase "needs work"
IIRC, when banks see you swapping cars and payments and stuff, they don't see that as commitment, and even though you pay everything on time, that may still hurt your credit, as backwards as that may seem. Anymore, a credit score is more important than your soul.
I'd drive the Starion, pocket the cash that would have been spent on a payment on "rainy day" money for when you know it may possibly break.

He had the MS3 for almost 3 years, maybe more. That's pretty average these days for any car owner. I don't know a lot of people that go over 3-4 years without switching it up. The 2nd car has been much more of a revolving door for him. In the past 2 years, he's had, a Miata, a Buick Park Ave, a Buick Regal GSE, and now the Starion.
Oh, and there's no way in hell that Starion could be daily driven up here without it crumbling into a pile of rust and plastic with the combination of our roads, our winters, and our idiot drivers we have to share the road with. And considering it's the first Starion we've seen outside of a junkyard in 10 years up here, they are pretty rare. Having some numb nuts in a Camry unintentionally accelerate into it would be a shame. A Civic Si, MS3, WRX, etc. is replaceable.
In response to bowtie bandit. The Si is only the 2nd car that I have made payments on, first being the MS3. My 2nd vehicle tends to be the one that gets replaced the most. Having a reliable DD with a warranty is better than something unpredictable. Before the financed cars I was replacing cars every year & putting more money into them than I was saving.
Unlike a fellow coworker that swaps financed vehicles every 6 months, 3 years isn't too bad.
See, down here our winters are so mild that salt and rust is never much of a consideration. Also not in a hugely populated area so traffic and bastard drivers aren't much concern either.
Good luck with the starion. Im planning to build a semi-starion-ish turbo 2.6 for one of my k-cars some day.
If you want HP, allow me to point out that the starion forums are utter trash. Avoid nearly all of their tunnel-vision failboat bullE36 M3 and just do what makes sense.
IMO what makes sense is this:
It's really amazing how full of fail the starion community is with those things. They've got a very strong bottom end, great head flow, and a bunch of windbag owners who never address the big problems that keep them from making real power.
In response to Vigo:
I've only come across one forum that was helpful, starquest.org IIRC. The had links to all kinds of factory manuals, parts list, etc. I'm still undecided if it'll be a challege vehicle or not. This has been my dream car since being a child on the school bus & seeing one everyday. I've spent years on & off doing the research on their weak points & have found a lot of input there.
I generally don't listen to what the masses say anyone. When I had the MS3 I avoided those forums like the plague.
