In about 6 weeks I will be leaving my job and moving away to grad school. Luckily, my best friend is coming with me. Being that we are two mid 20s males, neither of us have any interior decorating sense. What we do have is A LOT of auto parts sitting around.
I have a few camshafts that we were going to drill and mount to brake rotors to use as table lamps. I have a neon crank that could become something.
He has a spare VW 1.8 bottom end to be used as a coffee table. We have multiple sets of VW and Corvette wheels to stack and use as end tables.
Any other good ideas/examples? We're two guys who will suddenly go from good jobs to flat broke, but have a garage worth of tools and a lot of free time. Luckily we were able to find student housing that includes a 2.5 car attached garage.
The Googleing machine should bring you endless results.
Looks like a good argument for Pintrest.
This will be a phase in your life you will look back with fond memories. Us married guys will be living vicariously through your creation's. Please post pictures!!!
If I had boys instead of girls I would so do this.
The coat rack in my shop is two cams welded end to end bolted to a crank and flywheel for a base and half a dozen valves at the top.
I also have a lamp made out of a Dodge red ram hemi head, but my wife isn't sure she wants it in the house.
That truck-bed uh...bed is awesome.
The real Top Gear had a lot of examples. I don't remember the episodes but I am sure interested parties can find them.

I just asked SWMBO if I could do this for our son in a few years.... crosses fingers.
Can't find a better shot of them, but we stuck a couple of steering wheels in discarded ikea picture frames for a few years.
Made this for myself from the back seat of a Maxima. The weird shape made it a little hard to make, put it's holding up great.

I want to outfit a whole man cave with Citroen interiors.
