All I can think of is the hand-drawn picture of the guy routing his exhaust back into his intake manifold.

Don't they know that for the perfect balance of performance and efficiency, all you have to do is take energy from exhaust and recycle it?

back to the entire "harness waste heat for electricity". I guess it would work well in a hybrid, if those produce enough heat from the engine in the first place
My two cars were built almost twenty years ago, and they both turn their exhaust into more power. In fact some cars have been doing this since the '30s and '40s.

Wouldn't a turbo/ generator system work better? I'm not much of a scientist, but that really would be using waste energy.
Pretty cool idea anyway. Reminds me of the sterling engine. That's an invention that I'm surprised is not currently applied to anything.

complex and inefficent as of yet. propsed for many devices but making little headway.
And now the government is killing off the guys working on the water/hydrogen things, So they have to be very secretive.
