I worked for a Ford dealer when the original SVO was new. I used to giggle every time one came in and there was a reason for me to test drive it. Those things were WAY fun to drive.

mkc mkc mkc!

Every time I think that, I also remember that the Mustang began it's life as a Lincoln AND a T-Bird.

That's assuming there is any upgrade-ability, or that it will be be cheaper upgrade wise than a 5.0.

Are you kidding? Have you ever seen a low-dollar (aka not exotic) turbo car that wouldnt make more power with a full exhaust, better intercooler, and a better tune? I sure havent. For the money, those mods get you way more power on a turbo car than the equivalent dollar on an n/a car.. thats pretty universal.

New turbos? at that point why not just put it on a 5.0.

Because it would cost more? I doubt the ecoboost version will cost more than the 5.0, unless they uprate it to have more hp to start with.

Upgraded pistons/rods? so you have to buy 2 more than the 6?

Most factory motors can make like twice the factory HP before needing rods and pistons if the tune is right.

I want to see specs next to $$$, that's all that matters in the end...

Looking at all the other mundane turbo cars in the world is a good start.. Nearly all of them have massive hp/dollar ratios when you start at stock.

I lost weight and increased in bodyfat on P90X. And I did that E36 M3 right.

Glad I just borrowed the DVDs.

Much love for the SVO.A white competition prep 86 with cloth please. Added lightness is a beautiful thing.

I honestly expected lot worse comments on that site about SVO. I will take pure ignorance about SVO over ignorant comments...

This has been rumored for a while, and I still see no actual proof of an SVO offered in this article.

Still, it would be pretty cool to see a factory-turbocharged Mustang.

I'd like to know how the SVO model would fit into the current lineup, considering the V6 is already no slouch in any department. More power with more mileage? Almost doesn't seem possible, although I would have said that about the 300hp/30mpg V6 a few years ago as well.

Also, somebody must have gone to that Top Speed link and cleaned up the comments. I didn't see anything too scathing.

Maybe it could become ESVO (Extra Special Vehicle Operations) and build really weird stuff.

Like a 3/4 to 7/8 scale Mustang under 2500 lbs...

If Smokey Yunick was still around he could show you how to build a 7/8ths scale car. 'Cept he wasn't much of a Ford guy.

A 7/8 scale Chevelle is still 9/8 the size of a proper car
