With the departure of my WRX, I have an interesting scenario: garage space, and a spare high-zoot 13B.
So, I want an FB, and seeing as this forum found that long-lost racecar, maybe it can find my future long-lost car.
What I'm looking for (newly revised):79-80 (So an SA) or an 84-85 GSL-SE, no rust, straight body, good interior. Ideally it will have a weak or blown engine, because hey, I've got that better one. I'm at peace with my fate in needing to ship it, so anywhere CONUS is acceptable (though the closer to Nebraska, the better). Oh yeah, and A/C.
If you find me a good one, I'll re-up your GRM subscription, or buy you one of their hats. berkeley yeah.
How about one of these hats?
I will keep an eye out for one.

That's doable. I might even leave some beer in there!

Take a look at this one. Looks good, engine problems. No rust Florida car.

Here is another, not so pretty.

Thanks, but wrong generation. FB is ~79 to 85. I already had an FC, it was fun, but I'm looking for something I can throw historic plates on within a few years!

Gotcha. When I did my search no early ones came up. I'll keep looking. Because of the lack of rust around here, it's a good place to look.

Part of my adversion to rust comes from being from Florida!
Forget your engine, buy this Hillclimb Record Holder.
Or if you have something to trade, here's a GSL-SE.
Or how about a caged shell?
Presumably you've checked da' club. No luck there?
How about one with the right engine already in it? I can go pick it up for you.

A sad statement of my masculinity, but that racecar is too much racecar for my intended purposes. That GSL-SE, however... I wonder if he'll trade my US dollars? On an aside, how do you know it's a GSL-SE?

LALALALA I can't here you. If I didn't have that engine, I'd be shopping for a 240Z, so keep your V8 RX-7s away from me.

The 4x114.3 GSL-SE wheels.
Price?
No clue about model/trim but quick search shows these fall within the year/body style;

didn't include the red ones.

I guess that'd be helpful, wouldn't it? Barring perfection (a white GSL-SE with Racing Beat goodies), capping out around 2k. Of course, as I'm purposefully looking for a bad engine/good body example my desired price will be much less than that.

Depending on the worthiness of the cage, that would be an awesome start to a Lemons/Chump car!

Beautiful, but no way I'm hacking up such a nice one (not that it's in my price range, anyway).

Plenty of rollers in Ohio, but more then likely going with an FC for $499
Here's one

Winner, myself. A longtime GRM reader noticed this thread and emailed me. 1985 GSL-SE, extra engine, extra bumper. Needs a paintjob. Less than .3 Challenge Units. Not that I was going to Challenge it, but with 13B values in the toliet, it might just work...
