V-8 Focus?
I remember read. ing some of JP's stuff back on Buschur's board back in the EARLY 2000's...... man they were wild. I ALSO remember reading about JP ballin' it up... scary wreck. But holy E36 M3 was that thing fast.
I've been day dreaming of ideas to do with the P5 on my hellish drive home every day, my latest thought a SAAB 2.3T b235l and manual trans (Has anyone else been having issues with google not letting hotlinks as easily now?!?!?!) in place of the current FS-DE.
Am I completely crazy or what?
Step 1: Buy uncompleted "show car" project or pre-riced crapbox.
Step 2: Cut and fabricate as necessary to unsuspiciously stuff a tuned up and turned around Subaru turbo engine/transaxle in the trunk...In addition to the original engine up front.
Step 3: Profit.

Probably cheaper in the long run though......

Potential project I always had, in the back of my mind, is a turbo'd BP Festiva, Aspire suspension and brakes.
I'm going to be putting together a couple of interesting 3rd generation Accords or 2nd generation Preludes together soon. One with ITBs and a nicely worked over motor, and one with a turbo hanging off the front. I'm not a fan of lowered cars, so they'll stay very close to stock height. Just enough rice to set them apart (I already get revved in my slow Accord) should be all that's needed. A nice set of wheels and a really clean appearance make 80's Japanese cars look the business.
Those A series Honda engines are a bit of a bastard child in Honda's history. Iron blocks, forged cranks, and they handle a good bit of boost in stock form. They should both be interesting builds, possibly becoming a bit like a Honda FT2.

I do now. . . E36 M3.

Using a tahoe console the shifter even comes right up out of the cutout cup holder. Ran a quiet exhaust and left it pretty much stock looking outside. Thing looks really unassuming but moves out real well for a truck, with the soft suspension and long wheelbase, when he does a dig launch it moves around so much it looks like its gonna put air under a front wheel (it obviously wont). Here in TX most roll around in a diesel truck with a chip and think they are fast, its fun to drag them in that truck, occasionally he gets a bite from an Fbody or Mustang, that trucks caused some serious butt hurt. We mostly just leave our stuff quiet and stock looking, Ive considered throwing some fart cans on the Z28 and going to the races. A friend of the guy with the 06 did a similar build with a 5.3 and a lighter single cab truck and it moves out pretty good from a dig, I have a video of me and him racing, my camaro isnt that fast but he hung pretty good for a truck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42c2pEnkkA8
The wife would never let me do that. Ever.

Oh my god, awful. My supercharged cavalier (so glad I totaled that thing) sounded awful. Even though I put a massive resonator and some super heavy straight through muffler that was supposed to be really quiet on it. But it was fast enough to beat a new camaro on the highway (I'm assuming it was an auto).

My stock Ion Redline didn't sound that bad.......reasonably quiet and fairly deep tone
Zomby Woof wrote: I have a good friend who built a 13 second Kia Rio wagon. It was lowered, with nice rims, but you'd never guess it was that fast.
Let's hear some more detail on how he did that.
Would a 3L Duratec go into an Escort, or the Kia Sephia relatively easily? OR,how about an SHO (V6 or V8) in either of those?
You're better off sticking with the BP at that point.... neither of those swaps would be terribly easy.
PT Cruiser GT with factory manual trans. Uses SRT-4 engine, Getrag trans that was used in the diesel versions in Europe, and is pretty tough. Remove GT badges, get some terrible add on chrome or woody kit parts for the outside along with smoothie hubcaps. There is seemingly no end to the number of hideous exterior add-ons for the PT,so be creative! Add big turbo, injectors, meth injection, intercooler and so on. Stock long block SRT-4 Neons have made more than 500 hp and run 10s, so if you can't tickle the 11s with one you are doing it wrong. I am pretty sure most people don't know that these can be fast.

An MX-3 V-6 will in the Escort/Tracer. I think you need to swap the sub-frame and suspension, though.

Yeah the turbo direct injected ecotec in the later cobalt/hhr SS, sky redline, etc is an awesome engine, bolt ons, a tune, and e85 = 400hp/400ftlbs.
