The ridiculous part is that I just spent the last two and a half hours reading it all the way through, its only 230 in the morning now.
Looks like your have a ball building that thing, and your rate of progress is nothing short of staggering.
When I look at the progress it seems like I went really slow but when I look at the dates then I realize the progress was quite speedy.
Dangit! I see I'm not going to be able to stop reading this till I get to the end.
I think the 3.5L and autostick trans are pretty sweet.

If you are going to call me an easterner you better live in the pacific ocean
Dude I never even sat in the europa, I am 6'4"and weigh 325lbs. It was never even an option. Of course I acquired it for cheap and it paid for the trailer so it was an acceptable deal.
Egoman is officially the hero of the week. Complete, comprehensive build log and lots of humor. Dig. The random shots of the thermometer ruled.
Any thoughts as to the body panels?
The Brain sez: "YES!"
Two thumbs up. How many "..hey could you build me one of those?" have you recieved?
We thought about putting the drivetrain in the lotus........but apparently they arent built for someone my size.

I thought that's why you were building something for yourself in the first place!
Seriously, though...for bodywork, maybe you could find a start by searching ads for SCCA D and C Sports racers. Many of the older cars have become obsolete in the face of all these Euro "track day" cars (Radicals, etc.). The folks with older "homebuilt" cars seem to be trying to unload their stuff..

The website says that one's sold, but I'll bet there's a few more that haven't been...
