A local racer and car dealer was killed in a racing accident in Canada while competing in a vintage race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
I didn't know him personally, but knew of him.

I was there, didn't see the crash itself, but was close enough to see the end result before corner workers got to him.
He was absolutely flying up until the crash. Likely either a mechanical failure or a medical issue, my money being on the medical due to the location and nature of the crash.
