Saddened by the news that Kas Kastner has passed away today. What a amazing contributor to the Triumph world for the street guys and racers alike. He will be missed.

I just learned this early this morning. Sad news indeed, he was a legend in the Triumph community. Built my first TR following his book. Sad day indeed.

The man apparently had a "type":

That's too bad. He was a smart guy and loved to talk fast Triumphs. I have all his books.

Man. I remember meeting him briefly when he marshalled the Mitty in '12.  I loved his stories from that weekend. RIP Kas.

Did a lot of reading back in the day about things he did to the Group 44 cars and other Triumphs, when I was rebuilding my GT6 (both times). Definitely learned several tricks from things he had written or done.

Then he masterminded Nissan's dominance of imsa in the late  80s and early 90s.

It does suck. Kas was always good to us.

You can read more about his career over on the Classic Motorsports site

I used to have a website bookmarked that he actually participated in.  I could actually ask him a question.
