Energy drink of some sort, water and either soy nuts or salted edamame for protein. Also pbj's for road trip breakfast.

Get a box of baby wipes for cleanup. I'd concur with trail mix (favorite is Trader Joes with dried rasberries), Jerky (favorite is Cattaneo Bros far and away- real 1/4" thick beef strips), and lotsa water or Honestea.
Hard boiled eggs with hot sauce, half a pack of cigarettes, and a cooler full of beer. Dark sunglasses. Maybe a ham and cheese sandwich, or a jar of peanut butter.
Or, better than that, pull over every once and a while when you see a Cracker Barrel, which is about every seven exits.
Well, I made it home w/o incident 9 hrs flat from Ann Arbor to northern DE.
1 bag Turkey Jerkey
1 can monster lo-carb
4 mini water bottles
1 Coke
about a 1/2 of one chicken tender of a rest stop popeyes chicken meal (i couldn't finish it it was so disgusting)
and some gum
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try a bunch of them on my upcoming trip to Lime Rock :)
Lets keep this thread going though!
I am a sugar freak so I always have several rolls of Sweetarts. Otherwise I stay with water for drinks unless I am really having concentration issues then it is Code Red Mountain Dew.
We run from east tennessee to florida a lot and while I prefer Burger King small burgers as the ultimate road food, I have also taken a liking to Sonic chicken bites and tots. The Sonic is the only place open on Christmas Day in Tipton GA.
We drink bottled water, and take bulk almonds (from Costo), a sandwich, and those little bags of mini-cookies - they are supposed to be 100 calorie individual packs. lorne doones, mini-fudgees, chips ahoy, that kind of stuff. and an apple or banana. gum is essential. I used to know where every McDonalds and Wendy's was between DC and mid-ohio. now my body revolts pretty quickly. plus I always ended up with french fries between the seats, because I was eating them by the handful.
