I'm.considering buying fenders, hood and bumper for my mom's civic from rock auto. I was going to buy the capa certified ones. I'm a little concerned with the possibility of them being damaged in shipping. Does anyone have any experience positive or negative?
It's the same aftermarket crap you can get from any body shop supply place.

Yeah, but I'm in Canada and rock auto is 1/3 the price. I'm just wondering if it's packaged well or if I'm going to have to deal with cross border returns for damaged products.
I literally just got a set of rocker replacements from rock auto, same brand as many retailers but 1/3 the price!
They arrived in a huge box with miles of paper padding and unscathed.
This holliday season I have had almost all my packages damaged in some way, ironically these steel parts are the only.things which arrived in good shape.
And I got another magnet
Skip the CAPA certified ones. Same panel with a fancy sticker for a bigger price tag.
The parts may be cheaper, but add on shipping and you're at about the same price as buying the part locally. A lot of that stuff gets shipped "truck feight" and that jacks the price up.
for example - bumper cover '00 Camry. RA lists the part for $36.76. shipping to my house (zip - 03743)by truck freight( 1-5 business days) is $155.24 Total is 192.03
I can go to the local u-pull it and pick one up for around $100 or so.

I had the same thing happen... bought an Expressbodyparts.com fender... cost was about 1/2 of what the dealer wanted.... once freight was there the pricing was more or less the same...
Point... check ALL your costs BEFORe you buy.....
