The twin 7.41 pass was cool, but last night's double 7sec Supra pass was better. The green one must have cracked a head though. I read this morning he is out after filling a cylinder full of water when he shut the engine off.
That's what he said in the FB group.
I follow along for all large drag racing events so I was happy to see something happening late summer after drag week was cancelled. I wanted to see finegan run all week but that didn't happen. Now I'm not rooting for anyone but still seeing how fast these guys can go while driving miles between events
This makes we want to get into drag racing. Like I need another hobby
These events always make me want to start drag racing. I might have to take the truck to the track yet this year or early next spring and see where it sits. This event looks like it would be a ton of fun even in a 12-13 second car.

I go once a year amd run 14.7ish passes with my neon. It's a good time, and really makes me consider it more often. But as said above "like I need another hobby"

It sounds like the 1-2 shift linkage on Finnegan's car was installed upside down so he unknowingly launched in second gear and then shifted into first and Uncle Rodney put a dent on the inside of his oil pan. That car sure chews through engines.
I'm not a drag race guy - far from it - but that doesn't sound like it's the car's fault...

After all this Race Week content, I feel like I need some turbocharged 5.3L power in my life. Anyone got a 2WD 5.3L GMT-800 Sierra they want to sell me?
I'm ready to take my challenge vehicle on it... albeit I'm not putting a complete junkass T5 in it. I'd spend the loot on a $2500 g force version... I'd also bring a trailer full of junk to fix it as it broke. Lol
Yeah, Drag Week is definitely becoming more of a goal. It seems that a decent amount of reliability goes out the window when a car exceeds the 10-second barrier, especially when hard launches are required. Reliability also seems to lie in not doing hard launches (make power on the far end of the track). There's another year or so to figure out a relatively low-maintenance combo . . .
On a side note, for a non-Subaru guy, it's pretty amazing to see Subarus pulling consistent 9-second passes . . .
