How about a spring pin? They are usually press fit into place as they are expandable.

Plan B:

Find a drill bit that fits snugly into the hole, cut the drill shank off and cut it into two pieces the length you need. At that size the shank is the same diameter as the cutting edge.

I had a similar problem on my Datsun Roadster Nardi wheel. Just get the closest roll pin in size that is just a bit bigger (sounds like you found it) and either squeeze/vice pin together just a hair or gently open the hole just a bit, and 'screw' the roll pin in. Usually the metal that the pin fits into is aluminum and is quite easy to fit a slightly larger pin in. All parts available at ACE/True Value Hardware, much more fun than shopping for hardware online. $0.02, hope it helps.

Lock Tite is anaerobic, it only hardens in an area where there's no air, you want JB Weld.

Redrilling a hole for specific applications is not "Hack". It's "custom made, hand tooled by our skilled craftsman" and worth another $10 on the bill.
